Manufacturer's Description
Play as an Elite Marauder
Are you ready to join the 'Marauders' - the elite 'Special Forces' of the Mobile Infantry? Can you spearhead the assault against thousands of intelligent enemy bugs? Can you retake planet Hesperus, a Colonised Human mining planet, to save the federation, crush the bug threat and capture the Brain Bug?
Defend your compound against over 300 enemies coming at you simultaneously each with their own AI, using a variety specialist weapons, in these epic battles all made possible by the unique SWARM game engine. It's not been possible before now to put this number of enemies against you all at once.
Huge Cinematic Battles
"Bugs sir - millions of them!" "How many millions trooper?"
You'll be fighting against hundreds of enemies at once - just as in the movie you will have to overcome wave upon wave of bugs.
From start to finish it features a mix of huge real-time battles on an epic scale and solo 'infiltration' type missions.
There are varied Combat Environments - Indoor and outdoor levels, including the wide-open battlefields, a secret laboratory, claustrophobic bug nests, abandoned mines and lonely outposts.
Weapons of Mass Destruction
The Marauders are armed with lots of explosive weaponry. Weapons include the "standard" Morita rifle (seen in the film) as well as the plasma rifle, shotgun and rocket launcher, plus a variety of new and exciting items such as intelligent grenades and the infamous nuke launcher. You've got to make sure you have the right weapon in your hand when it comes to taking out the big bugs.
A Brave New World
Not just limited by the locations seen in the movie, the game will be spread across a variety of internal and external environments on the planet Hesperus. Missions range from huge battles to small incursions behind enemy lines.
At last, a first person shooter worthy of the Starship Troopers film complete with warrior, tanker and brain bugs; many of the film settings like Whiskey Outpost and the tongue in cheek humour from the grunts around you. All backed up by Johnny Rico giving you your mission instructions. Then you go beyond the film into the wider Starship Troopers universe.
New Life
As well as the Warrior, Hopper and Tanker seen in the movie, the game will feature over 19 types of bug - all with their own unique characteristics.
Save humanity from the bug threat and battle 19 types of arachnid enemies on the strange alien planet through visually stunning varied terrains, wide open landscapes and claustrophobic tunnels across 12 levels. They're up close and personal in your face mostly 2 to 3 meters away. And some of them are 10 metres tall!
You are not alone
As well as the single player there's 3 co-op levels, 3 deathmatch levels and 3 team deathmatch levels. Dedicated co-op multiplayer levels to . you and your platoon. Up to 8 players can form their own squad of 'Mobile Infantry' and play together to defeat the arachnid menace? How about having a go at the Trooper vs. Trooper 'deathmatch' Remember - You are an elite marauder, the best of the best, sent on to this distant alien planet to meet up with and help the troopers through the hazardous missions. You've arrived on the rebound from a major defeat and with your superior armour and weaponry you have to put yourself in the frontline. The mobile infantry will give you breathing space, but you've also got to take the enemies down.
All is here and untouched, same installation, same content as the DVD9 except foreign languages.

| Thanks a bunch I'm excited to try this. It makes me wonder if anyone has made a game based on the book Ender's Game? |

| I played the demo and it was so so. This is the 2nd Starship Troopers to come out. The first one was from MicroProse. I downloaded the 1st one but could never get it to work. |

Wow, it loads really slow...3-5 mins every time. Half-life 2 loads 10 times faster than this, is there a fix. _________________ "I have a light switch at home that doesn't go to anything. According to gamespot, the original game was so technically deficient, that most people couldnt run it.
Hence the remake.
Also most reviews were bad, But I really expected something along the lines of the doom games, and thats exactly what it was.
Run and shoot, and do it some more. No huge mental puzzles to figure out, Just tough it out, and learn when to run.
In my opinion, its worth playing, Also ive always enjoyed coop games, so this was good for me. It also has deathmatch which is not balanced, and thats where the bad reviews came in mostly.
Just like the old days with the bfg9000, Just a little greener. |
